Day 33 - Townsville - Port Douglas

Today has been much of a relaxing drive from Townsville to Port Douglas. Everything was working in our favour. One of the Townsville locals scared us a little it yesterday, and told us it would take us all day just to get to cairns (because of all of the road works). It really wasn't as bad as we had prepared for. Four and a half hours saw us pulling into the Caravan Park with a couple of stops for breaks and lunch. I even got a look in, in the drivers seat! Woo Hoo!! (only because Maciek had a headache).

Finally, we get to drive along the coast! A very pretty, scenic drive from Cairns to Port Douglas. Whilst it is pretty slow going due to the speed limit being 60 - 80 km/hr (along the highway), it is well worth the extra time to enjoy the scenic drive.

Arriving into Port Douglas, we check into another Big 4 caravan Park and get set up. We got given a Big 4 membership for Christmas and it has paid for itself twice over already.
Heading into the town to pick up some supplies and to have a look and see. A very cute little town, on the beach front.
Back at "home" and the kids are in their bathers and straight into the pool! Dinner was cooked on the BBQ by the pools edge. Snuggles with our babies before retiring to bed or a big day ahead! tomorrow we hope to check out the Mossman Gorge and tree top walk , along with the Markets in the morning.
Happy Mothers Day tomorrow for all the mummies out there!!
Night xx
