Day 58 & 59 - Alice Springs - Kings Canon

Another long and boring drive between Alice Springs and the Kings Canyon. We safely arrived at the beautiful Kings Canyon! We headed to Kings Canyon Resort and set up tent right next to some other Tasweigians! We had a great time chatting and laughing. In true Tassie style it turned out that their children went to the same high school as Maciek and I and they knew my father. Such a small place!
Setting up tent late in the afternoon, we settled in and had a relaxed evening.
Getting up early and packing up camp, we headed for the big walk. 6 kms around the rim of the Kings Canyon! Not too sure about how the kids will cope with the walk we set of with much hesitation. Before us stood our first challenge. Hiking up a steep hill like Billy goats! To our sheer amazement Izabella walked the whole way up! In fact she walked 4 kms before she even showed a glimmer of being tired! So proud of my big girl. And Krystian! He walked the whole way with out complaint!
The walk is totally mind blowing! Magnificent views!! Surrounded by the sheer sandstone mountains, it was almost like we were in a lost city! The whole 6kms we were in awe of our surroundings. It was almost like we were in another country!

The Garden of Eden

The walk was exhausting but so worth it! We all flopped backed in the car and headed four hours down the Lassiter highway to Uluru!
