Day 66, 67 & 68 - Adelaide

A relatively quick drive from Port Augusta to Adelaide, just taking over three hours. The weather forecast horrible for all five of the days we re in Adelaide (were hoping its wrong). No idea, or forward planning on where we are staying, we hunt around looking for the best caravan park. Again, the Big4 wins and we end up setting up camp at West Beach. the caravan park backs on to the beach, the kids more excited because of all of the aeroplanes that fly over us from the airport.  Planning on doing nothing productive the first night in Adelaide, the kids spent hours at the playground and Maciek and I just sat and relaxed!
Heading to town the next morning, we wandered rounds the mall and "window shopped"! Not much shopping allowed when there is nowhere to put it! We had read about Adelaide's famous old lolly shop, and accidentally fell over it wandering back to the car. Sadly, we didn't have our camera with us. The kids were in awe at all of the lollies LOL

From here, we drove around admiring all that Adelaide had to offer, before spoiling the kids and taking them to the Aquatic Center fora swim. After all of the swimming they have done whilst we were away up the East Coast of Australia, they were desperate to swim. Two hours in the water and it was all we could do to get them out of the water. as imagined, they slept like logs that night. The nights are so cold here, and the wind is bone chilling we all usually retire to the tent and all four of us snuggle in our bed watching tv on the laptop. What else can yu do when it is so cold??

Our second full day in Adelaide saw us heading to Adelaide's Famous city market, a foodies delight! so, you could imagine we loved it! Heading out into South Australia's country side we headed for Melba's chocolate factory around 35 minutes outside of Adelaide. Along the way,we accidentally fell over this beautiful country town called Hahndorf. A German orientated town, bought memories flowing back from country Europe. With many cafe's, boutiques and shops and its amazing relaxed atmosphere, this was a perfect place to wonder around and eat lunch. We treated the kids to Fantasy Caves. A magical, fairy tale cave featuring 13 different rooms to enjoy. the kids really loved this and for $6 entry for all four of us you couldn't go wrong.

Ending  a fabulous day, we all jumped into our pyjamas and snuggled in bed (keeping warm) and watched some tv. It was windy and raining. What else was there to do?
Tomorrow we hope for nicer weather.

 Night all xx
